Nokia North America: “There is still a lot of life left” in the Nokia Lumia 900

Matt Rothschild, Head of Marketing at Nokia US

Neowin has spoken to Matt Rothschild who is on the North American leadership team and is responsible for working with operators to get Nokia’s devices promoted in stores.
When asked about the Nokia Lumia 900 being a dead end due to the lack of an upgrade to Windows Phone 8 he replied "there is a lot of life left in these devices" and that they "are continuing to invest in this product" and the "platform has a long way to go".
He said the company would continue to promote the handset and that there is "absolutely great innovation coming to this product" and "you will continue to see new news about" the Lumia 900 which could be new software updates, apps, or something else.  He did not however reveal specifics for fear of "overwhelm [the reps] with new information".
He said Nokia would make "operators, together with consumers" the company’s key focus. Part of this was engaging with sales reps, and they noted from their research sales reps were responsible for 55-60% of the decision making of buyers. "What the [sales] representative is telling the [consumer] still weighs heavily on the final decision," he noted.
The company will continue working closely with sales reps, including employing the “Nokia Army”, an internal group of over 10000 volunteers who go to retail stores to promote the Nokia products.
He also noted the Pink Nokia Lumia 900 was driven by consumer demand and the company remains bullish about the handset.
