Find My Phone is Windows Phone’s location-tracking feature, and Windows Phone users must be pretty responsible, because we don’t often hear stories of the service finding lost Windows Phones.
Fortunately the service does in fact work, as proven by Joe Zapert, who’s car, containing his Dell Venue Pro and dog Papi were stolen in Daytona recently.
He gave his WindowsPhone.com log-in details to Daytona Beach PD, who were not able to initially locate his phone, but tried an hour later and manage to find the exact location of the car, and also rescue Papi, who was still inside.
The good news story is a reminder for users to activate the valuable service, which seems after the latest updates to be deactivated by default.  Set it up under Settings > Find My Phone.
